GRANDMA'S HOUSE (NET ZERO)

Grandma’s House is built to net zero standards, meaning that it produces as much energy as it consumes on an annual basis. It features solar panels, a heat pump, radiant floor heat, triple-pane windows, structural insulated panels (SIPs), rainwater harvesting, an electrical vehicle charger, and a home energy monitor. Abode’s Project Lead, Dan Allison, built this home on a property he inherited from his grandmother. As a company, Abode wanted to lead by example and show that building a net zero home can be cost effective. We believe that this type of house is the future of residential green building. BALLARD DADU (NET ZERO)
Ballard, Seattle, WA
This project will be constructed to Five Star Built Green standards and will be net zero, producing as much energy as it consumes. The Ballard DADU (detached accessory dwelling unit) will feature an energy efficient building envelope, radiant floor heating, 6KW of solar power, SIP roof panels, and triple-pane windows. Abode is looking forward to breaking ground on this exciting Net Zero cottage in spring 2016.
